Winner of the HISTORIC category of Sculpture Shock 2014, Joanna Sands' installation at the Asylum in Peckham fused a geometric aesthetic inspired by the Minimalists of the 1960s with the indepth knowledge and the painstaking precision of a true maker. Sands' print is currently in production and will reflect the importance of drawing in the planning stages of her practice. Sands has been the recepients of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant, The Woo Foundation Award and the Herbert Read Scholarship. She has exhibited widely in both the UK and Germany.
