Who is eligible to apply?
Established, professional artists who make sculpture in any of its forms as a significant part of their practice, whose work contributes to the language of sculpture and who can demonstrate a high level of expertise, experience and contemporary understanding.
Are there different levels of membership?
In addition to the main Membership category, it is possible for Members to be nominated as a Fellow. Fellowships are awarded by existing Fellows in recognition of outstanding reputation, experience and talent.
The RBS also awards ten Bursary membership places for early-career sculptors of outstanding talent and potential each year. The 10 winners participate in a curated exhibition at the RBS Gallery, enjoy all the benefits of RBS membership for two years and are offered Membership at the end of the two years, without further selection process.
N.B. the Bursary Award has a separate application form and procedure – details appear on www.rbs.org.uk each Spring.
