Set in the former iron foundry of the Carlshütte, the first industrial enterprise of the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein. Founded in 1827 and shut down in 1997, the Carlshütte located in Büdelsdorf is not only an impressive industrial monument, but also offers an unusual ambience for cultural events with its gigantic hall ships, the restored ACO Wagenremise and the generous park grounds make it one of the largest annual exhibitions of contemporary art in Europe. The NordArt is a juridical exhibition, which will be redesigned annually as a complete work of art. It offers a comprehensive panorama of international contemporary art in a special ambience. More than 200 selected artists from all over the world will be showing their pictures, photographs, videos, sculptures and installations, which not only speak for themselves, but also create new perspectives together with each other in front of the unique backdrop of the Carlshütte and in the historical sculpture park.
