Dorset based sculptor working in bronze. Through unusual poses and elegance of line Rose skilfully conveys the tender and powerful inner life of each subject, her pieces flow with strength and delicacy.
Born in Surrey in 1960 into a family bursting with artistic creativity, Rose graduated in 1983 from Central School of Art & Design in London with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design. After two decades as a set and costume designer and fashion couturier Rose changed medium and focused on her love of sculpture. On completing studies at The Heatherley School of Fine Art Rose’s first publically exhibited piece was shown by the Sladmore Gallery London in 2001 with further work again in 2003. The Society of Wildlife Artists first accepted her work in 2003 and 2004.
Rose blends her natural sense of line and elegance with her love of abstract and linear forms. Expanding her portfolio to include the animal and human imagery of her dreams, she adds dimensions rich in mythical discovery and spiritual expression. Working with unusual poses, Rose tells a story of emotions, relationship and beauty.
