Mark Beattie is a London-based, award winning sculptor working with various metals and more recently neon.

Inspired by his extensive travels, Mark Beattie’s work is guided by his experiences of different countries and cultures. Working with metals in all their contrasting properties of texture and finish, he is able to create an exciting sensation of form.

He studied Contemporary Art Practice (International) at The University of Leeds, which included a year studying sculpture at The Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. Graduating from his BA Hons in 2010 he subsequently went on to complete a Masters in European Arts Practice at Kingston University in 2012.

Since graduating, Mark has exhibited widely throughout the UK and his work has been collected internationally. In 2015 Mark started to experiment with neon in his work, this coincided with him being awarded both the Xerxes Sculpture Prize for ‘Double Helix’, which was exhibited at The Serpentine Gallery and The Midlands Open Main Prize for ‘Neon Orb’, first shown at The Art Other Fair in April 2015.
