Making It - artist led workshops
These bespoke school-based workshops provide pupils with a means to engage directly with a professional sculptor. With the emphasis on making 3D work, pupils develop new skills through being encouraged to explore a variety of media and techniques to create their sculptures. This form of applied experience provides students with an engaging and inspiring addition to their course of study.
For teachers, working alongside a professional artist expands their vocabulary and skills, both academically and technically, and importantly provides a sustainable means for the continued enhanced provision of sculpture tuition in schools.
“It was fantastic to collaborate with an artist combining ideas and coming up with a new project. Working with a sculptor has made me more confident in my 3D teaching (I am a printmaker). The sculptor, Julia Vance, was a very inspiring and kind person, who taught with passion and integrity. The day reinvigorated my passion for teaching sculpture and gave me ideas for a project to design for KS4.”
Head of Art, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School
Fees generally apply and vary according to the length of the project and the plan.
