John Atkin FRBS is a recent Committee Member. His work has been exhibited worldwide and he is actively engaged in the discourse surrounding public art and urban regeneration policies.

Since leaving the RCA in London, where his entrance on the MA Sculpture course was personally funded by Henry Moore, Atkin has exhibited his work worldwide.  Recent publications on Atkins’ output focus on the notion of “industrial archaeology” with discreet references to cultural heritage within the contemporary landscape.

Publications include The Navigator; Scorched Earth; Distant Voices; Cut; The Made and The Unmade.

Atkin has completed several commissions and exhibitions in China since 2008 when his 27-ton marble sculpture, Strange Meeting, was selected from 2600 applicants for exhibition in Olympic Park. He has just returned from China where he has made a large scale stainless steel sculpture for the City of Fuzhou.
