Jennie Speirs Grant’s practice is based in process led conceptually based sculpture informed by drawing, working mainly for exhibition, publication, commissioned and site specific contexts.
Jennie Speirs Grant holds several awards including an RBS bursary award in 1997, The Fredericke Bushe OBE sculpture award and an AHRC award for doctoral research in contemporary drawing and sculptural glass as a combined subject, completed in 2012.
Recent exhibitions include works in glass and drawing at the National Glass Centre, Sunderland and “Sterna Paradesea – Oblique Ornithologies”, curated for Armstrong Studio Trust, Newcastle.
Currently Artist in Residence with the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation and a member of the Drawing Research Network. Collaborative working and inter disciplinary projects are integral, particularly within architectural, landscape and performative contexts and partnerships.
Work ranges in size from public sculpture to small scale works in private collections.
