Crowther hand-carves great trunks of unseasoned English oak embracing the natural characteristics of the oak and, guided by the grain and annual rings, her carving forms winding, organic structures.
Alison Crowther was born in 1965 and studied at the Royal College of Art, London 1989.
Crowther has exhibited her work widely since 1992 and has received a number of substantial commissions including the Rothschild Foundation at Waddesdon and the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard, London.
Internationally Crowther has work placed in the USA, throughout Europe and more recently China, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing and Heifei City.
